What: Calling all technology activists, journalists, students and media makers. Bring your voice and ideas to participate in a day of discussion on how public media and the community can better support each other. PublicMediaCamp Georgia invites you to be a part of one of only six Public Media Camps scheduled in the U.S.
Where: GPB Headquarters, 260 14th Street, NW, Atlanta, GA 30318
Who: GPB is sponsoring this event. Presentations will be created by participants.
Format: Inspired by unconferences such as BarCamp, PodCamp and unconferences hosted by Minnesota Public Radio and KUSP Santa Cruz, PublicMediaCamp will give all participants an opportunity to plan and run the event.
Participants will be invited to formulate conference tracks and sessions as part of pre-conference engagement process. Significant portions of event will also be left open and reserved for attendees to create their own sessions on the weekend of the event itself.
All presentations and sessions at PublicMediaCamp are on the record; blogging, podcasting, tweeting, etc are all strongly encouraged, in conjunction with the tag #PubCampGA. Any presentation materials shared at the event must be released under a Creative Commons Attribution, Noncommercial Sharealike license so they can be used at other camps.
Attending: PublicMediaCamp is free to attendees. The cost of the event will be covered by the event organizers and our sponsors. This is NOT an opportunity to focus on selling your product or service, but to participate as a valued member of the community.
Sponsors: GPB and NPR are contributing sponsors of PublicMediaCamp Georgia. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, please contact Nancy Zintak at nzintak@gpb.org
